The movie tells the story of astronaut Leo Davidson crash-landing on a planet inhabited by intelligent apes.

The apes treat humans as enslaved people, but with the help of one ape named Ari (Bonham Carter), Leo starts a rebellion as he seeks to return.

Planet Of The Apes received mixed reviews. Critics criticized the confusing plot and ending but praised Rick Baker’s prosthetic makeup designs, visual aspects, and musical score.

It is also one of the commercial successes, with a $362.2 million box office collection against a budget of $100 million.

Conclusion

The Departurefilm review team found the core idea is more reasonable: in the previous iteration, how could humans deteriorate over 2000 years while apes evolved? Makeup for apes is far superior.

Besides a few cartoonish emotions, monkeys in the previous movie didn’t show their feelings.

Generally speaking, characters are more compelling and have more logical objectives.
