Freya Allan Starred As Mae Is The Only Hope For Human To Regain Their Intelligence

Freya Allan, who captivated us as Ciri in Netflix’s The Witcher, now takes on a new challenge in Wes Ball’s Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.

She embodies the character of Mae/Nova, a young woman with secret motives who embarks on a journey with Noa.

Highlights

  • Mae could disrupt the balance of power that apes have enjoyed for centuries, making her a valuable target for the ape leader Proximus Caesar.
  • She teams up with Noa and rebels against the cruelty of Proximus Caesar.
  • She represents the potential for humans to regain their intelligence and challenge Caesar’s rule.

Noa and Raka give her the name “Nova,” relating to the character of the same name from War for the Planet of the Apes.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is a science fiction action film that follows up on the 2017 War for the Planet of the Apes.

20th Century Studios will release it in the United States on May 10, 2024, and it will run for 145 minutes.

It was initially scheduled to be released on May 24 but was rescheduled two weeks earlier to avoid competition with Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.

Furthermore, Owen Teague starred in the leading role alongside Freya Allan, William H. Macy, Peter Macon, and Kevin Durand.

Mae’s Journey Holds The Promise Of Change And Enlightenment

Mae’s heightened intelligence makes her a valuable target for Proximus Caesar, the ape leader. Her abilities could potentially disrupt the balance of power that apes have enjoyed for centuries.

Her intelligence might have something to do with her partial immunity to the Simian Flu virus mutation, which has left most humans mentally retarded and primitive.

She represents the potential for humans to regain their intelligence and challenge Proximus Caesar’s rule.

Moreover, she becomes a beacon of hope for the future by exposing the truth and sparking enlightenment among humans and apes.

She teams up with a young chimpanzee, Noa, who also plays a crucial role in the movie.

Their partnership forms as Noa rebels against the cruelty of Proximus Caesar, who ruthlessly subjugates humans and weaker ape tribes.

Thus, Mae might have suffered a leg injury during these unfolding events.

In an exclusive interview with Screen Rant, Freya Allan hinted,

She sees this as a “symbolic of how similar” Mae and Noa are to one another, enabling them to recognize themselves in one another.

Proximus Caesar had taken the life of Noe’s entire family and village. Later, the lone survivor saves Mae from Caesar.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes Has A Lot To Say Thematically

The review team of The Departure film finds Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes a worthy successor to the franchise’s throne.

Fans can expect a visually impressive film that continues the legacy of Caesar and the apes in this otherworldly adventure.

The Apes saga remains a powerful and thought-provoking journey through time and evolution.

It is a blockbuster with astonishing VFX, great performances, and the promise of an epic new saga.

  • The film is set almost 300 years after the events of War for the Planet of the Apes (2017).
  • The Simian Flu has mutated, leaving most of humankind primitive and no longer the dominant species.
  • The superior and advanced race of apes treated humans as vermin.
  • The filming of Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes concluded on February 15, 2023.
