At the time, Martin was testing his 1969 Camaro, the “small-tire” car for the preparation weekend’s event, which was featured as an upcoming show on Discovery channel.
Chris “BoostedGT” Hamilton, the host of No Prep Kings, posted the crash video on Facebook.
According to the commentaries, there was smoke on the top end of the tire, and BoostedGT specified that the tire had been locked and that the car had crashed into the wall.
Luckily, Ryan Martin survived the crash. Later, he made a statement on his Instagram page regarding the accident.
The incident occurred on the third testing run. Ryan tried to avoid trouble by shutting down the engine, but the car made contact with the wall.
However, the vehicle damage wasn’t too bad. The team brought the car to a shop in Melbourne and admitted the main challenge was finding a replacement for the nose and hood.
His team was determined to make repairs and compete in the final three events on the Street Outlaws’ American Schedule.
