Rupert Murdoch Undergone Plastic Surgery To Replace Ripped Skin

The media mogul Rupert Murdoch underwent minor plastic surgery after a yacht incident in Sydney Harbor in December 1995.

He jammed his finger in a winch on the American-built maxi-yacht Sayonara and had to repair the ripped skin from the top of his right hand’s second finger.

The maxi-yacht was close to the Sydney Harbor Bridge while he held the main sheet.

A few moments later, he was resting on the gunwale and stretching his hand over the edge of the yacht. He expressed,

I did what I was told not to do and put my finger near the winch.

Afterward, he was hurried ashore and taken to St. Vincent’s Private Hospital in Sydney for an hour-long surgery.

However, he told one of his staff members that he felt fine just before the operation.

Larry Ellison, the skipper of the yacht Sayonara, elaborated,

It was just a freak accident. Fortunately it’s minor. It’s no big deal. He’ll be fine for the big race. Don’t worry about that. It happened when the race was over and we were all relaxing at the end of the day and sometimes when you’re chatting you don’t pay attention for a second.

Moreover, Rupert Murdoch was scheduled to crew on the 78-foot Sayonara in the Sydney to Hobart yacht race.

Similarly, he was secretly hospitalized for two bouts of pneumonia, a broken back, a torn Achilles tendon, seizures, and atrial fibrillation.
