Sisters Andrea Dunlop And Megan Dunlop’s Relationship Was Ruined By Munchausen Syndrome By Proxy

When confronted with her sister’s case, some were unwilling to acknowledge that a condition like Munchausen syndrome by proxy (MBP) could actually exist.

After the debut book (Losing The Light) was released, Andrea Dunlop faced a defamation lawsuit from her sister, Megan Dunlop.

Andrea Dunlop, author of We Came Here To Forget and The Mother Next Door, is also a podcaster.

Highlights

  • Andrea’s sister Megan often displayed unuual behaviour of health issues and illness throughout her life.
  • Megan even deceived the reporters behind the podcast, and fabricated the whole truth.
  • Not comprehending the situation, Meghan shifted all the blames to Andrea and sued her for defamation.

She appeared as a guest on the podcasts Moms Don’t Have Time to Read Books and Bad on Paper.

Just last year, she co-hosted her own podcast, Nobody Should Believe Me, which had 18 episodes.

She often discusses topics such as willful deception, reality distortion, and the gendered aspects of Munchausen by Proxy MBP.

Andrea Dunlop Sister Succumbed To Munchausen syndrome by proxy (MBP)

On a podcast, Andrea Dunlop recounted her experiences with her sister, Megan, who had unusual health behaviors throughout their lives.

Her sister, who endured numerous knee and back surgeries during her teenage years and once shaved her head to make it look like her hair was falling out, spent years experiencing various medical issues.

Andrea later discovered that her sister had Munchausen syndrome and eventually Munchausen syndrome by proxy (MBP).

Individuals with Munchausen syndrome fake illnesses, either physical or mental, sometimes by intentionally harming themselves.

Similarly, those with Munchausen syndrome by proxy, on the other hand, make another person appear sick, often by physically inducing illness through various means.

Troubled by Megan’s actions, Andrea’s family sought help from their family doctor.

Even though Megan seemed to lead a normal life, Andrea remained worried, particularly when Megan became pregnant again. She grew concerned for her nephew’s safety.

MBP Led Megan To Deceive The Reporters Behind Podcast, And Sue Andrea Dunlop

Andrea’s sister showed no remorse or acceptance of wrongdoing despite her numerous efforts.

In the episode Do No Harm, she mentioned that her sister deceived the reporter behind the podcast.

They ended up writing an article filled with inaccuracies about Megan’s case.

Also, Andrea implied Megan did not believe the podcast presented the situation as a clear-cut case, suggesting that the stories were more complex than they were portrayed.

So, Megan sued her sister for defamation when Andrea released her first book, Losing The Light

Still, Andrea didn’t halt speaking out for her nephews and nieces for their well-being.
