Mason Schermerhorn was one of the four who lost their lives in the recent tragedy; per the news, they were g*nned down by a 14-year-old male student.
The suspect is expected to be sentenced for m*rder and multiple other charges. He k*lled two teachers and two students, including Mason, at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia, on September 4, 2024.

Speaking of the victims, the two teachers who lost their lives are Richard Aspinwall and Christina Irimie, both math teachers. Additionally, Aspinwall was the defensive coordinator and coached football.

Mason Schermerhorn Was Confirmed Being One Of The Victims By His Mother Breanna Schermerhorn
According to WSBTV, Mason Schermerhorn’s mother was the one who confirmed her son was one of the four victims of Apalachee High School’s shooting.
As per the news, Mason’s family became worried after they couldn’t reach him after the incident. After getting no updates from the late 14-year-old, they turned to social media.
Mason’s parents and the rest of his family desperately waited for good news. Sadly, they got the worst news.
Talking about Mason’s father, there is nothing on him. However, his mother, who came forward to identify her late son’s name, is revealed as Breanna Schermerhorn.
Similarly, Breanna is on Facebook, and going through her old photos, it seems she is a mother to three kids.
Furthermore, some posts show Breanna having a great time alongside her partner and children in Disney Land back in 2015.
Besides Mason’s mother, his grandmother, Dawn Schermerhorn, is on Facebook. As per Dawn’s posts, the late Apalachee High School freshman was born on May 27, 2010.
Dawn also mentioned that Manson’s unofficial weight as a newborn was 7 lbs, 14 ounces. Furthermore, she mentioned that those who weighed Manson at that time thought they did it wrong.
Mason Schermerhorn’s Sister Lilianah Ahmed Shared An Instagram Story After He Went Out of Contact
Mason Schermerhorn is also survived by his sister, Lilianah Ahmed. His elder sibling was the one who shared about him being out of touch on Instagram.
Ahmed uploaded a story on Instagram and asked for help. She wanted anyone in the Winder/Barrow County area who saw him to contact her.
In addition to that, Ahmed also wrote Mason was autistic. She also advised people to use a calm voice if her brother escalates.
While Ahmed’s Instagram page is currently private, she often uses Facebook to share glimpses of her life.
Although there is no picture of Mason on Ahmed’s Facebook account, she often shares about her partner, mother, and grandmother.
As per Mason’s sister’s post from late 2021, she didn’t grow up in a religious house. So, this must be the same for Mason.
