Mayall’s career spanned seven decades. At ninety years old, he was one of the oldest active musicians.

According to management’s statement, following the illness, Mayall canceled his September 11, 2018, live performance at The Cohoes Musical Hall and six weeks of spring concerts in the United States.

Sadly, John was caught by COVID-19 at the end of that trip and had a bad case, according to Jay Davenport, the drummer of Mayall’s band.
Mayall didn’t play a note of music to the band for a year and a half because of the pandemic.
