Hiram Kasten was born Hiram Z. Kastenbaum on October 30, 1952, in The Bronx, New York, United States. Unfortunately, he passed away on June 16, 2024, at the age of 71.

Kasten was born to his father, Samuel Jimmy Kastenbaum, and his mother, Mildred “Marsha” Polansky Kastenbaum.

His father was ready to place his Yankee Cap on Hiram’s head as he so often did as a child for his final outing.

He was raised with his sibling, Sheryl Kastenbaum, and sister, Sari Spector Kastenbaum.

Hiram Kasten prided himself on being a product of New York’s great public school system, from elementary through Taft High School.

Later, in 1974, Hiram majored in Theatre at CUNY’s Lehman College. Since childhood, Hiram Kasten has dreamed of being an actor.

Soon after college, Hiram was cast by Israel Horovitz in a revival of his play “Live” at the 13th Street Repertory Theatre.
