Prosecutors disclosed that Matthews, known for fronting an SNP national conference, misused her position of trust by fearlessly funding a lavish lifestyle.
Suspicions were raised when following her mother Janice’s passing in September 2021, Matthews told other family members that her estate was worth only £36,000 ($46,297.26).
Her sister, Danielle Thomson, obtained copies of financial statements from her mother’s bank and found that thousands of amounts had been withdrawn while she was in hospital.

She has made 371 PayPal transactions totaling £46,763 ($60,138.62), ATM withdrawals of around £38,000 ($48,869.14), and Amazon purchases of £13,650 ($17,554.31) from her mother’s account.
