Dermot Mulroney Is Not Leaving Chicago Fire And Will Debut As Chief Dom Pascal

As of 2024, Dermot Mulroney is all set up for his new role as Chief Don Pascal in Chicago Fire. Both Chicago Fire and Mulroney’s fans were thrilled to learn about it.

However, recently, rumors surfaced online that Mulroney will be leaving the Chicago Fire. Now, fans are curious; however, there is no official confirmation of Friends alum leaving.

So, there is nothing to fear for now as he is going nowhere. Moreover, Mulroney has already finished shooting some of the episodes of Chicago Fire season 13.

The thirteenth season premieres on Wednesday, September 25, at 9/8c on NBC. Thus, we have to wait to know his fate in the show. Until then, there is no telling where Mulroney’s character, Pascal, goes from there.

Though Mulroney’s future in the show after season 13 remains uncertain, he is clearly stepping in to fill the void left by Eamonn Walker’s departure.

Walker portrayed Chief Wallace Boden, a character close to the series’ fans. Sadly, his tenure in Chicago Fire ended in the Season 12 finale.

It all happened after Walker or Chief Boden transitioned from his role as Battalion Chief at Firehouse 51 to pursue a promotion as Deputy Commissioner of the Chicago Fire Department.

Revisiting the finale, which was titled Never Say Goodbye, delivers an emotional farewell to Boden.

Still, it’s not an end. Per sources, Walker is expected to return in a recurring role, giving fans more of Boden in future episodes.

Following Chief Boden’s exit, Chicago Fire apparently went under notable cast changes, with several original characters recently leaving the show.

Now, with Boden leaving the show, his mantle goes to Dermot Mulroney as he joins the story as the new fire chief, Dom Pascal.

Moreover, Mulroney’s character is expected to bring a fresh dynamic in season 13 to Firehouse 51, further shaping the show’s direction.

For now, all we can do is wait for the thirteenth season to air and see how the new changes, including Mulroney’s addition as Chief Pascal, will fit into the show.

Fans are optimistic about these developments, and the veteran actor appears to be pleased as well.

Additionally, he has shared a couple of behind-the-scenes updates with his followers on Instagram.
