Massey, confirmed by her daughter to have paranoid schizophrenia, had called the police believing someone was trying to break in.
During their interaction, Grayson noticed a pot of boiling water on the stove and instructed Massey to move it to prevent a fire.
As Massey approached the pot, the officers backed away from her. Confused, she asked them where they were going.

Tragically, he followed through with the threat and even prevented the other officer from obtaining a med kit to assist her.
