Massey, confirmed by her daughter to have paranoid schizophrenia, had called the police believing someone was trying to break in.
During their interaction, Grayson noticed a pot of boiling water on the stove and instructed Massey to move it to prevent a fire.

Tragically, he followed through with the threat and even prevented the other officer from obtaining a med kit to assist her.
