Angela Nikolau was born to her father, Dmitriy Nikolau, and her mother, Olga Nikolau.
Both of her parents are circus performers, trapeze artists, clowns, and animal trainers. They taught her ballet and acrobatics from a young age.
However, Angela’s growing up was scarred by her mother’s anxiety and depression after her father, Dmitriy, abandoned them.
Later, her parents got officially divorced, and Angela started living with her grandmother in Kostroma, Russia.

Despite the challenges, Angela took steps outside of Moscow and moved to Almaty, Kazakhstan, determined to be independent.

Nikolau’s family includes five siblings: Diana, Tikhon, Matryona, Maria, and Matvey.
On February 24, 2024, she lost her 17-year-old brother. She tweeted,
