Christopher Halliwell Walks Away From Wife Lisa Byrne And Their Three Kids

Christopher Halliwell and his wife Lisa Byrne parted ways as he left his family for his neighbor.

Christopher Halliwell is a convicted m*rderer. He has been convicted for taking two lives. However, he is believed to be linked to multiple other homicides.

Regarding Halliwell’s two cases, he received life sentences in 2011 for Sian O’Callaghan’s case and was also charged with Becky Godden-Edwards‘ case.

Highlights

  • Christopher Halliwell and his wife Lisa were parents to three kids together.
  • According to Steve Livings, Halliwell was one of the suspects in Melanie Hall’s case.
  • He divorced his wife and moved on with his neighbor Heather Widdowson.

Precisely speaking, it was revealed that Halliwell indicated to police that he might be connected to as many as eight more m*rders. He spilled the beans following his confession regarding Godden-Edwards‘ case.

Since Halliwell’s dark truth was revealed, he has been in the news several times. The same goes for the recent resurgence of discussions around his name.

As of 2024, the Channel 5 documentary The Body In The Bag will reveal the tragic details of Melanie Hall’s story.

During the investigation, Halliwell was among the notable m*rderers suspected of being involved in Hall’s demise. Due to this, he is again in the news.

Halliwell was first suspected of Hall’s case by Steve Livings, retired detective superintendent. In The Body In The Bag, he expressed his suspicions about the taxi driver-turned-serial k*ller.

Christopher Halliwell Left His Wife Lisa Byrne And Three Children For His Neighbor

Christopher Halliwell was first suspected of Hall’s case by Steve Livings, retired detective superintendent. In The Body In The Bag, he expressed his suspicions about the taxi driver-turned-serial k*ller.

However, before Halliwell became one of the most notorious serial k*llers, he was a family man. He was married to his wife, Lisa Byrne, and the duo welcomed three kids together.

The Halliwell couple walked down the aisle at Holy Rood Roman Catholic Church in the mid-1990s. They met in 1991 and gave birth to one son and two daughters.

While Halliwell worked as a taxi driver to put food on the table, his wife also contributed as a shop assistant.

Although the taxi driver from Swindon led a normal life with his now ex-wife and their children, it was only a facade. Under his family man persona, he wasn’t just a criminal but was also an unfaithful partner to his Lisa.

Despite being married to his wife for approximately 15 years, the father of three left his family for his neighbor, Heather Widdowson. However, he moved with his new partner just a few doors down.

Additionally, Halliwell was engaged in numerous one-night stands. He also admitted to paying sex workers for their services.

Returning to Halliwell’s ex, Lisa was just 16 when they met, while he was 23 at the time. Later, when he started his taxi company, the couple moved into a semi-detached house in Swindon.

Though Lisa was no longer married to Halliwell, she approached the media and apologized for her estranged husband’s c*imes. It happened after he was sentenced to life in the Sian O’Callaghan m*rder case.

Similarly, Halliwell’s daughter, Natasha Halliwell, publicly appealed for her father to disclose the truth about his case. She urged him to “do the right thing” regarding Sian O’Callaghan’s case in 2012.

Like Lisa, Natasha also stepped forward and shared her thoughts. She expressed her need for closure and understanding about her father’s actions and their impact on the victims’ families.

Additional Information

  • From a young age, Christopher Halliwell displayed a lack of emotion, as his sister Sarah noted that he would often pull the legs and wings off insects without any signs of feeling.
  • Halliwell is currently serving a life sentence after pleading guilty to the m*rder of 22-year-old Sian O’Callaghan in 2011.
  • He also confessed to m*rdering 20-year-old Becky Godden-Edwards in January 2003, but the case was dismissed in court.
